Hi Ho Halloween's Here

To get into the spirit of Halloween, Luke donned his Jack shirt for most of the week...

Twice during various outings people asked if his name was Jack.  I would reply, "witty, but no."

Lauren REALLY wanted to see Luke in a pumpkin...

Either we need a smaller kid or a larger pumpkin for this to be a success

(Luke is showing you the lights, just in case there was any confusion).

Some finishing touches on Luke's costume (that my mom and I survived making together with a pattern, some RIDICULOUSLY shedding fabric, a sewing machine, and some love)

"I HATE THIS COSTUME!!!!!!!"

This is my fake smile suffering through my costume...

"I'm humoring you, mom"

Too distracted by the 115 other costumes of Oak Hill kids to care what he's wearing...

Meet Harold...

Sylvester,

and Harriet.

Thankfully we had the Oak Hill parade which gave Luke the opportunity to be in his costume for over an hour Friday.  Saturday evening, we ran through the rain so Luke could "trick or treat" at three neighbor's houses...which lasted a total of 5 minutes.

He stayed in his costume for a while after trick or treating just because he could!

I left the goblin at him with Tutu and joined Ellie, Gina, Lauren, Ian, Nima, and Skylar for an evening of haunting ghost stories and soul dancing with the Essentials (who debuted their Thriller Michael Jackson tribute at midnight!)

Park Time

Brett hit the road Friday am and arrived in Colorado this evening (he made time for a run en route).  I had hoped to get away for the weekend so the pining would feel minimal, unfortunately, Luke's ear infection plus my own bout with a bug limited our travels to Eugene.

Luke, Tutu and I ventured to a nearby park this afternoon to get out of the house (and enjoy the sun while it was here!).

Judi's Maesner Broker Incentive

To entice local brokers to visit our house today, our broker Judi offered a cash incentive--if you visited the house and left your card, you were eligible to be put into a drawing for $50.

Tonight, Judi let us pick the winner.  We decided our 11-month-old Luke would enjoy the experience the most...

We helped him get the 16 candidates' cards into his pumpkin.

Luke then had us help him shuffle the cards around a bunch.

He did some hand sorting and re-shuffling...

...finally pulling two from the bunch.

After a moment...

...he dropped one card to determine the clear winner of the drawing:

Congratulations Andy Burnette of ReMax Integrity!

My First Ear Infection

Luke had to leave daycare early today because he was "inconsolable."  Turned out this was due to his very first ear infection.  They day was so traumatic for him that he fell asleep at dinner (on his first course, even--he didn't even get past the Cheerios!)
